Mozambique to improve business licensing
November 27, 2012
The Government of Mozambique has signed an agreement with ICF to further improve the business licensing process for the industry, retail, tourism and small enterprise sectors in the country
The project will create a single electronic portal to link business registration One-stop-shops with decision-making bodies responsible for approving licenses at provincial and ministerial levels across the country. This will help speed up the license authorization process so that businesses will be able to get an industry license in 10 days instead of the current 30 days, a tourism license 17 days instead of 45 days, and access to simplified licenses will be instantaneous.
The project will also build the skills of staff in One-stop-shops to improve service provisions to businesses. Similar training will be done for directorates of Provinces, Municipalities and Districts.
