ICF worked with the Government of Tanzania to build the capacity of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) to transition from the informal to formal economy. With a focus on the retail trade, small manufacturing and fisheries sectors in Dar es Salaam and Mwanza, the project trained 1,024 individuals including business owners and employees on business management skills and 20 providers of business development services. It also increased the number of people employed by MSMEs from 346 to 888.
